Welcome! RVA Tropical & Exotic Plants is more than just a pop-up market, we are a curated, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit community of growers, cultivators, and artisans. Our events are held every 6 to 8 weeks at premium Richmond venues, including Triple Crossing Fulton, River City Roll, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and The Great Big Greenhouse.

We operate on a Partnership Model, meaning you apply once, get vetted once, and join a permanent community of approved creators with ongoing event access.

How Our Process Works

  • 1. Submit Your One-Time Application: Fill out the form below with your business details, social media handles, and accurate descriptions of your inventory. There is no fee to apply.

  • 2. Curation & Vetting Review: Our admin team reviews your brand alignment, plant health standards, and commitment to the maker spirit. We strictly enforce a 75% Maker Rule (75% or more of your table must be live plants you grew or items you handmade).

  • 3. Welcome to The Canopy: If approved, you will receive login credentials to The Canopy, our exclusive vendor portal. You do not need to reapply for future events.

  • 4. Claim Your Space: Inside The Canopy, you can view upcoming market dates, browse available booth layouts, purchase space via our secure card payment system, and coordinate directly with our team.

Core Curation & Integrity Standards

Before filling out the form below, please ensure your business aligns with our core community guardrails:

  • The 75% Rule: At least 75% of your table inventory must consist of live plants (including nursery stock, imports, rare collector cuttings, and home-grown specimens) or handmade artisan goods.

  • Who Can Apply: We welcome all levels of the plant community! Our vendor partners include commercial nurseries, local plant stores, independent artisans, and hobbyist collectors thinning out their personal collections.

  • No General Resellers: Our market is strictly dedicated to the plant and maker community. We do not permit booths primarily featuring mass-produced, non-plant boutique items (such as fast-fashion clothing, generic home decor, or general buy-and-resell items).

  • The AI Post-Processing Mandate: AI-assisted work is welcome only if you have applied substantial manual, physical, or artistic craft to the final item. Simple prompt-to-print merchandise is prohibited.

  • Honest Photography: Fabricated product photos or AI-generated plant images (such as fake variegation) are strictly banned. Your photos must represent real physical items.

  • Plant Health: All live plants must be free of pests and disease, and comply fully with Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) regulations regarding invasive species.
