We all love the high energy of our big Sunday swaps, but let’s be honest: sometimes it’s nice to actually sit down, have a great craft beer, and talk plants without hundreds of people moving around you.
We created Tropicals At Sunset for exactly that reason. It’s the relaxed, midweek version of what we do—focused more on real community connections and the actual "how-to" of plant parenthood.
The Vibe
This is a small, intentional evening. We are keeping the market limited to just 6 vendors max. This means you actually get the space to talk to the growers, ask questions, and discover that rare, elusive "gem" you’ve been hunting for without fighting the usual weekend crowds.
The "Ask Maks" Plant Care Clinic
If you know our VP, Maks, you know his Begonia game is on another level. He’s bringing a few stunning highlights from his personal collection for everyone to see, and he'll be stepping in as our resident plant crisis counselor. If you have a plant that is currently throwing a tantrum or dropping leaves for no reason, this is your chance to get expert advice and help save your favorite greenery.
Plant-Focused Trivia & Team Challenges
We’re running an interactive team challenge throughout the evening. Grab some friends (or team up with fellow attendees), solve the challenge, and turn in your card by 7:30 PM. Think of it as a plant-focused spin on your favorite pub trivia night. We’ll announce the winners at 8:00 PM, and the top team walks away with Väsen Brewing gift cards.
The Basics
Food: Hungry? Feel free to grab takeout from any of the local Scott's Addition spots and bring it right into the taproom.
Dogs: Well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome to join.
Accessibility: The Väsen taproom is on the ground floor and fully accessible to everyone.
Vendor Info: Want to be one of our 6 featured vendors for this event? Applications open tomorrow, May 2nd, at noon right here on our website. Because spots are extremely limited, they tend to go fast! We’re looking for hobbyists and makers with unique items and a passion for sharing what they know.*
Come through, grab a pint, and let’s talk plants!
